It encompasses a broad range of activities, from small-scale subsistence farming to large-scale industrial farming. Agriculture is a fundamental part of human civilization, providing food, fiber, and other resources.

Key Aspects:

  • Crop Production: Involves planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops, including grains, fruits, vegetables, and other plants.

  • Livestock Production: Encompasses raising animals for meat, dairy, eggs, and other products.

  • Aquaculture: The farming of aquatic organisms, such as fish, shellfish, and seaweed.

  • Forestry: The cultivation and management of forests for timber and other products.

  • Preparation and Marketing: Involves processing agricultural products, packaging them, and distributing them to consumers.

SUBSISTENCE FARMING

Subsistence farming is a type of agriculture where farmers primarily grow crops to feed themselves and their families, with minimal surplus for sale or trade. It is characterized by small land plots, traditional farming methods, and family labor.
  • Traditional Methods:

Subsistence farming often relies on traditional farming techniques and practices, with less reliance on modern technology and inputs.

  • Limited Surplus:

While some surplus may be generated, it's usually minimal and primarily used for local trade or bartering, rather than being sold in a larger market.

  • Small-Scale Production:

    Subsistence farms typically involve

small plots of land, often family-owned.

  • Self-Sufficiency:

The primary goal is to produce

enough food to meet the needs

       of the farming household, rather

       than generating income

       through sales.

Your gift today can help change a child's future forever.

WESOURCE emphasizes the need for support and guidance to help children make informed educational decisions for their future. While 43% of adults currently work in their childhood dream jobs and 19% have done so previously, many young people lack the trust, love, and support necessary to take proactive steps toward their goals. This highlights the importance of early intervention and encouragement in shaping their futures.
